some new feathery friends

june 3rd...we're enjoying supper with some friends at our house and we notice some new birds... (bohemian) waxwings!!!

they are so cool. first there was 1, then 3, and then eventually 8! haven't seen them for awhile...guess they don't like the rain :(

there are you happy?!... finally gave you an update!

okay so the last month has been crazy....!

let's see...

it's been really stressful at work, had to tell a friend/co-worker some work-related bad news and i have fought to change it!

trying to get some things done around the yard... i now have a 28 foot raised garden bed... it is split into 4 parts... one for rhubarb (btw didn't like the transplanting or the dandelion spray!), one for herbs, one for strawberries and one for asparagus!

the dandelions are sprayed, curt has been removing some unwanted items from the yard (kinda a mess, but the yard has great potential!), new perennials were bought and transplanted, the garden is planted...etc etc!

so life has been busy...

also some more news... i am going to 5 days of schooling this summer, i have also committed to taking my master's starting january and i have a new teaching job starting this fall!!! (at a school 14 km from our house!)

curt will be super busy this fall again with lentils and more lentils...

so yes we will be busy... no boredom for us!

i just love this time of year!

i think this is the time of year that i wish i didn't have a full time job...that way i could be gardening, planting, weeding etc all the time... anyways i fit it in when i can! plus summer is coming!!!

she is the cutest thing... i just fell in love with her... she has a very nice personality and temperament.

looking for a cool card idea?

i came across this idea one day... and decided that the kids should make these for mother's day! what a hit!

they are very easy...
1. cut out 6 circles (or however many you need, depending on how you fold them) (and if you have a circle punch even better!)
2. fold 2 sides to make it look like a piece of pie
3. fit them together, glue on paper
4. glue a button or stone for the flower center

these work best if you use double sided printed paper.... aren't they cute?

friday, april 30... i had a few ladies that i work with over for supper and the evening...

we had taco soup, and many many appetizers for supper and chocolate fondue and cheese ball for dessert...oh man what a feast! and what fun!
