it's pretty cool...friends and relatives...

DUG being DUG!

it's pretty cool... when you marry your friend...when you've travelled with your in-laws before you knew they would be your in-laws...when your siblings were already friends with your spouse's siblings before the marriage...when your friends are now related to you... really... it's pretty cool.

on april 4th, some family got together at our house...i took this picture of my sister, sister-in-law and father-in-law...and the above thoughts came to me!

this day was my sister's birthday, so we had some cake...but to add to the occasion, we celebrated my sister-in-law's birthday which was 2 days before and also...celebrated the upcoming birthday of my father-in-law...again...pretty cool!

saturday brought many adventures...chillin' outside, easter egg hunt, flyin' kites etc!

post-swimming fun...

after swimming...we head to sheldon and jenny's for an awesome bbq supper...then ice cream, then trampoline set-up (i might add it was the kids and the girls who did all the work!), some tea, and some settle down time! thanks again!

before we head to the swimming pool, glenda calls and invites us to go kite-flying! why not?! i think we all had a blast, even me...so much fun, i bought 2 kites to start!

this was the cutest...rhett and haden flyin' kites together, makin' them dance. the kites would get close to one another and they would get so excited!

robin laid an egg...

owls live in nests but people EAT nests...chocolate nests that is!

one of our "good friday" morning activities consisted of this...making chocolate nests! these are sooo sooo soooooo yummy! just ask the kids! (see recipe below)

1. pour 1 can sweetened condensed milk into a glass bowl. add a bag (about 12 oz) of chocolate chips (we used milk choc). microwave at low power until the chips melt.


2. remove bowl from microwave and stir in about 5 oz of chow mein noodles. mix well with the chocolate.


3. cover a cookie sheet with waxed paper. drop spoonfuls of the chocolate mixture onto the paper. press the mixture into the shape of a nest. (should make about 8 nests, depending on how big you want them!)


4. add a few jellybeans or "robin eggs"...we used robin eggs. form these eggs into the center of your nests.


5. chill the nests for several hours.


6. eat and enjoy! yum yum!

here are 6 of our creations...we got 9 (this size) out of the recipe and shared with some of our friends!

from 0 to 3 in the blink of an eye...

so we have 3 kids now...got them thurs night, but have to ship them back home on monday... we are having a blast... after picking them up, we went to the library, picked up some books, went grocery shopping...then on home to make pita pizzas! yum yum! then to play with the dogs, play catch etc etc...lastly we played "what's yours like?!"...what a hoot...i will never forget tilynn describing something..."it kinda looks like a chicken finger!"...totally threw me off...i think i lost the game!
